The first cover of Russian Vogue, September 1998

First issue of Vogue was released in America in 1892.
In 1909 it was purchased by the publisher Condé Nast: the number of pages in the magazine has increased dramatically, and the emphasis on fashion for women - increased. Accordingly, increased the price of the magazine.
In 1916, when because of the First World War, it became impossible to deliver the magazine in the Old World, Vogue began to print in England. The formula has proved successful: in 1920 the first issue of French Vogue.
In 1932, American Vogue was first placed on the cover of a color photograph (before the magazine opened up the figures). Since that time, c Vogue cooperate best photographers of the world - Irving Penn and Guy Burden, Richard Avedon and Norman Parkinson, Helmut Newton and Peter Lindbergh.
In 1960 under the leadership of Diana Vriland American Vogue has become a symbol of a new epoch - more creative, relaxed and sexy.
Another important milestone in the history of Vogue began in 1988 when the editor in chief of American Vogue Anna Wintour has become. Her talent, commitment and performance, as reflected in the movie "The Devil Wears Prada », completely made in Vogue magazine number 1 in the fashion world, which not only reflects the trends, but also to a large extent shapes them.
The first issue of "Vogue Russia"appeared in September 1998. In August of 1998, when the Russian economic crisis broke out, advertising a new magazine with supermodel Kate Moss and Amber Valletta in Red Square on the cover and the slogan "Russia has finally" most perceived as a sad joke. However, Vogue appeared on the forces to overcome all difficulties and to become not only a key Russian magazine about fashion, but also the flagship of all the glossy press of the country, the standard monthly glossy magazine brand-new, world-class. For Russian Vogue shot Helmut Newton, Peter Lindbergh, Steven Meisel, Paolo Roversi.Posed for Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Natalia Vodianova. Wrote Peter Weill and Alexander Genis, Tatyana Tolstoy and Alexander Timofeevskiy. Starred Renata Litvinova and Ingeborga Dapkunaite, Nikita Mikhalkov, Oleg Menshikov, Viktor Pelevin and Zemfira.
C 2001 Vogue awards prize for the best style decision "at the Moscow International Film Festival. Former chief editor of Russian Vogue Alena Doletskaya says: "Fashion - size changeable, Vogue - the constant".
